CLIMATE OF VICTORIA:   Victoria is classified as USDA hardiness zone 8b (the same as Istanbul, Turkey).    Victoria receives less rainfall than Toronto and less than half the amount falling on Vancouver BC.  Details are shown in this table from Environment Canada.

VICTORIA AREA SCHOOLS:  The Greater Victoria metropolitan area is covered by District no.61. TSouth Vancouver Island also includes Sooke School District no.62 and Saanich School District no.63 The percentage of grade 10 students achieving a passing grade of C- or better last year (2010) for Victoria region schools can be seen in this chart.
